Superheroes Lena and Cian Ni Choclain along with writer and model Amanda Brunker helped launch the World Vision Ireland gift catalogue today at Airfield House in Dundrum.
The charity, which works with children and families in the developing world, is asking shoppers to choose from over 30 life changing gifts this Christmas.
“The World Vision gift catalogue is a super idea” says Amanda.
“Forget about the scented candles and smelly soaps and get your granny a goat for Christmas instead. These gifts are really needed and a great way to show the true meaning of Christmas.”
“Most of the gifts provide a source of long-term income for the family, such as the ‘Super’ goat" says Helen Keogh, World Vision Ireland Chief Executive.
“This special breed provides double the meat, milk and offspring of local goats. What a super gift to give someone this Christmas - truly a life changing gift.”
Prices cater for all budgets and start from €5 for 2 school fruit trees.
Each gift comes with a card for your friend or family member describing the gift you’ve chosen and how it will be used.
Other ‘super’ gifts include piglets for €25, drought-tolerant seeds for €15, mosquito nets for €10 and blankets for €16.
“All the gifts are bought locally so as to make sure the animals are suitable to the climate and diet, to keep transport and admin costs at a minimum and to support the local economy” added Helen Keogh.
You can buy the gifts online here or by calling 1850 366 283.
