World Vision International is active in over 100 countries worldwide. This makes us one of the largest relief and overseas development aid organisations. As part of this partnership World Vision Ireland assists in emergency situations such the Haiti Earthquake, the Asian Tsunami or peace building in South Sudan.
Our long-term development work focuses on our partnership with 11 Area Development Programmes (ADPs) across six African nations.
The communities that form an ADP can be made up of 3,000 to 8,000 families who are all eager to work themselves out of poverty. That’s why the management of the ADP is led by the women, men and children of the community giving them the tools and expertise to continue their development long after World Vision has gone.
