Sending Gifts and parcels to the Field:
You may send gifts or parcels to Nepal and Tanzania through An Post. We recommend you opt for the tracking option. Be mindful not to include batteries, sprays, aerosols or undergarments.
Unfortunately, An Post do not deliver to Uganda. Therefore, we offer a private courier service on behalf of our sponsors. Private couriers are more expensive than posting with a national post service and therefore World Vision Ireland cannot cover the cost of posting on behalf of the sponsor. By bulk sending sponsors parcel’s to the field, sponsors can share the cost of the private courier fee, greatly reducing the fee for the individual.
We do offer this courier service for sponsors in Nepal and Tanzania also but please bear in mind; sponsors will need to cover the cost of posting parcels to our Dublin office and the cost of private shipping to the field.
You may post your parcel to our offices in Dublin at the following address:
World Vision Ireland
The Mews
Garland House
Rathmines Park
Rathmines
Dublin 6.
We do not accept:
- Sprays & aerosols
- Batteries
- Undergarments
- Liquids
You will also need to include a postal cost inside your package to cover the cost of sending the parcel from our Dublin office to the field. Or, you may call us on (01) 498 0800.
Rough Postal Cost Guide:
Small packages (a small envelope, a t-shirt or notepad) - €15
Medium packages (a larger envelope, for instance t-shirts and a notepad)- €20
Large packages (a large parcel – containing multiple items but still smaller than a shoe box) - €30
Please ensure that there are some identifying details on or in the parcel. These can include a sponsor Partner ID, your sponsored child’s Child ID, and the name that your World Vision account is linked to. Please note that any personal information such as an email or home address will be blanked out to send to the field in accordance with our Safe-Guarding policy and for the protection of both the sponsor and the sponsored child.
World Vision must check the contents of each parcel to ensure safe contents.
World Vision Ireland reserves the right to call any sponsor who has not paid in full the amount that their package will cost, and seek full payment. We understand that our pricing guide is a rough estimate. Please note sending very large or heavy packages may incur a much larger fee. If your package is too big to put into our bulk packaging boxes, fees can range from up to €300+. Please be mindful of this. We cannot send packages that do not have the cost covered.
Because of our community-focused solutions, for every child you help, 4 more children benefit, too.

How does Child Sponsorship work?
World Vision has had a Child Sponsorship programme for more than 70 years, we pair donors with a vulnerable child who needs protection and empowerment.
Child Sponsorship brings much needed change to more than just one child — the benefits you help provide extends to each child's family, their community and other children in need.
This is because World Vision partners, plans and works alongside local community members to help build healthy, sustainable communities for vulnerable children in the world’s hardest places. Learn more about how Child Sponsorship works.
How do you choose children that will be sponsored?
All of World Vision's work begins with listening to communities in need. Community leaders work with us to identify the most vulnerable children and families who will benefit from Child Sponsorship.
How do you choose communities to work in?
We work with national governments and other international agencies to identify the regions and communities that are most in need and where the most vulnerable children live. We then meet with community leaders and the wider community to gain a greater understanding of the challenges and the opportunities that exist for them and we develop a long-term plan together, to break the cycle of poverty.
