Sending Gifts and parcels to the Field:
Many sponsors enjoy sending gifts to their sponsored child to let them know they are thinking of them.
You can send a gift or parcel directly through An Post. We recommend choosing a tracked postage option so you can follow your parcel's journey and ensure it reaches the World Vision Field Office safely.
Alternatively, you can send your parcel to our Dublin office, and we will include it in a bulk shipment to the Field Office in your sponsored child's country. This can often be a more affordable option for our sponsors, as shipping costs are shared across multiple parcels. *Please note that you will need to cover the cost of posting the parcel to our Dublin office, as well as a contribution towards the international shipping costs.
Postal Cost Guide:
(For parcels sent to our Dublin Office)
Small packages (a small notepad, colouring pencils): €15
Medium packages (educational supplies, a book): €20
Large packages (shoes, multiple clothing items): €30+
**To help keep shipping costs manageable and ensure gifts remain equitable for all children in the programme, we kindly ask that gifts are no larger than a shoebox.

A Note on Shipping Costs
The costs listed above are intended as a guide. Occasionally, a parcel may cost more to ship than originally estimated due to its size, weight, or destination. In these cases, we may contact you to discuss any additional shipping costs before the parcel is sent.
Please be aware that very large or heavy parcels can incur significantly higher charges. If a parcel is too large to fit within our bulk shipments, shipping costs can exceed €100. To avoid unexpected costs, we encourage sponsors to send small, lightweight gifts whenever possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to send parcels until the full shipping cost has been covered. Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for helping us bring joy and encouragement to your sponsored child.
Because of our community-focused solutions, for every child you help, 4 more children benefit, too.

How does Child Sponsorship work?
World Vision has had a Child Sponsorship programme for more than 70 years, we pair donors with a vulnerable child who needs protection and empowerment.
Child Sponsorship brings much needed change to more than just one child — the benefits you help provide extends to each child's family, their community and other children in need.
This is because World Vision partners, plans and works alongside local community members to help build healthy, sustainable communities for vulnerable children in the world’s hardest places. Learn more about how Child Sponsorship works.
How do you choose children that will be sponsored?
All of World Vision's work begins with listening to communities in need. Community leaders work with us to identify the most vulnerable children and families who will benefit from Child Sponsorship.
How do you choose communities to work in?
We work with national governments and other international agencies to identify the regions and communities that are most in need and where the most vulnerable children live. We then meet with community leaders and the wider community to gain a greater understanding of the challenges and the opportunities that exist for them and we develop a long-term plan together, to break the cycle of poverty.
