A world where every child enjoys ENOUGH nourishing food so they can thrive.
A life of plenty for every child has always been possible, but that’s not reality. Every single day, children are being forced to go without food. Up to 783 million people in the world faced hunger in 2022. Shockingly, there is no exact number describing how many of those people suffering from hunger and malnutrition were children.
This is just not good ENOUGH.
Child hunger is at its worst in generations. Children are bearing the brunt of an unequal food system disrupted by conflicts and climate change. Every child deserves the food they need to develop a healthy body and mind. Every family has the right to be able to put enough of the right food on the table. We must take action immediately.
WITH ENOUGH PEOPLE LIKE YOU, WE CAN ENSURE THERE IS:
ENOUGH nutritious food
ENOUGH government money
ENOUGH political will
ENOUGH to end child hunger and malnutrition

Little Nuredin was on the brink of starvation
In a small village in southern Ethiopia, Mensur waited for his little brother to die...
Mensur is 11 and fiercely loves his little brother Nuredin, who is three – especially because he came so close to losing him. Life is hard in their community. But it got much worse for them when their father sold their patch of land and left the family, leaving them penniless and homeless. At that time, baby Nuredin was only four months old.
With their father gone, Mensur, his mother, and baby Nuredin were left to survive. No shelter. No food. No safety. Their world was turned upside down overnight. Can you imagine the worries and sleepless nights of Mensur’s mum, Hindiya?
She had to find a way to put food on the table, so she borrowed money to buy some grain at the market and sold it in small bundles from a stall. But the money she earned was not enough to feed herself and Mensur, and she no longer had enough breastmilk to feed Nuredin either.
Mensur dropped out of school and stayed at home looking after his little brother while his mum tried to earn their living. He missed out on more and more lessons. And then it got even worse. Nuredin began to get sick.

Night after night, Hindiya and Mensur took turns holding and comforting baby Nuredin. He shivered with fevers. Then got convulsions. It was clear that he was dying. Can you imagine how heart-breaking it must have been for Mensur and his mum?
As they had no money, all they could do was wait for him to die.
Mensur was terrified. “I was so scared of losing him forever,” he told us. This little boy was watching his beloved baby brother fade away. But in this time of angst, feeling helpless and being paralysed, there was hope.
World Vision staff in Ethiopia stepped in and helped. And Nuredin didn’t die. He recovered from malnutrition. And the family is getting back on their feet.
Hindiya was given seeds and training to grow vegetables for her boys, and soon had a thriving garden. She learned about child nutrition and food that growing children need to be healthy.

She also received some chickens and learned how to breed poultry, set up her own poultry business, and manage her finances. Today, Hindiya’s poultry business is booming and she has regular clients ordering meat from her each week. She has plenty of food for her children, Nuredin is a healthy toddler and Mensur is back at school and doing well.
But while Nuredin and his family have enough food now, so many children have none. The worldwide hunger crises is sickening. Did you know that every 11 seconds a child dies because of hunger? Every 11 seconds! It’s so hard to imagine all that suffering.
And still, there is hope. Can you please step in and help a child, like baby Nuredin, and their family stop malnutrition? Can you help children recover from wasting and ensure they have enough nutritious food to grow up healthy and strong?
