Frequently asked questions?

Is my donation in good hands?

World Vision is committed to working with the most vulnerable communities around the world. For 70 years we have worked in some of the most difficult places in the world, and today our staff work in almost 100 countries. World Vision is the leading global partner of the World Food Programme. From the local to the global level, we account for every penny donated to our programmes.

Who is actually putting my money to use?

Over 95% of World Vision staff are local to the countries and communities they serve. A core World Vision value is "we value people". Employing local people is one of the ways we build a future that includes stronger communities.

Why should I support World Vision?

World Vision is committed to transparency. We publish our impact and our financial details online.

How are you able to send my donation to people in need so quickly?

Our teams in Somalia and Lebanon have already identified the most vulnerable people and determined their urgent needs, so that when you make a donation we can act quickly to get your gift to the people and communities who need it most.

Can I get in contact or meet with the person or people who received the gift I sent?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Many of the children and families we work with live in extremely dangerous circumstances, and we do not want to put you in any jeopardy. Also, for the privacy and protection of any gift recipients our policy is to never share their personal information. We hope you understand.

Can I send a gift to someone in a country other than Somalia or Lebanon?

We appreciate you want to help people in other countries, but for now we are starting with Somalia and Lebanon for Follow your Donation. We hope to expand to more countries as soon as we fulfill these needs.

Why haven’t I received any e-mail updates about my donation?

Check your junk mailbox first. Nothing from World Vision there? Did you tick the box that said "send me updates on my donation"? For legal and privacy rules and regulations, you must tick this box to receive these updates. If you are sure you opted in to get e-mail updates, and don’t see anything from World Vision in your inbox or junk mailbox, please get in touch with us at ireland@worldvision.ie so that we can resolve this in a timely manner.
