Ending Violence Against Children

We won't stop fighting until every child is protected.

The need to keep children safe

This year alone, 1.7 billion children will be the victim of violence.

Our approach to ending violence against children protects them today and empowers them for tomorrow.

By identifying the root causes of violence, World Vision is able to work closely with everyone responsible for protecting children to prevent it—starting with families and faith communities, and expanding to encompass classroom leaders, school administrators, community leaders, law enforcement, healthcare professionals and state and local governments.

With your support, we work in the most dangerous places, with communities and local and national government at all levels. We empower communities to build a safety net of loving and caring people to protect children, prevent harm, and ensure that those who are harmed receive the help they need to recover.

The fight for child safety faces great challenges:

How we secure children's safety

We speak out on issues like child marriage, child soldiers, child labour, violence and abuse, influencing laws and amplifying children's voices.

When childhood is protected, futures are transformed. In 2016 to 2017, World Vision supporters helped 10.2 million children in 62 countries benefit from our child protection work.

Protect children today, empower them for tomorrow
